The 1st release on the Flight Plan to the Greatest Hits is Self-Titled.
Originally released on July 4, 1995, the Foo Fighters' eponymous debut album had been recorded almost entirely by Dave Grohl himself, in the same Seattle studio where Nirvana had recorded its last session less than two years earlier. This didn't stop Grohl from listing the group's eventual first touring lineup of guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel, and drummer William Goldsmith in the credits, thus making it clear that Foo Fighters were not a solo endeavor. The album would eventually reach #3 in the UK charts, and #23 in the US, being certified Platinum on January 26, 1996, and earning a nomination for 'Best Alternative Music Album' at the 1996 Grammy awards - an award that ironically went to Nirvana's MTV Unplugged In New York album.
